Season Disappoints Underclassmen This year Bement’s J.V. and Freshmen teams had a disappointing season winning only one game out of twelve. Even though they only won one game, most of the J.V. games were close. The Freshmen, however, were totally outclassed except at Villa Grove. The J.V. record was 1 and 6; they beat Atwood Hammond. The A-H team had beaten the Freshmen twice during the year. The J.V.’s like the Varsity, had quite a few injuries to key sophomores who could have possible made the season record better. Three of the players injured were Mike Flavin, Nick Manali-say, and Jeff Bradley. These three along with John Bentley, Chuck Price, and Brett Phipps dressed and played on the Varsity Squad. 1.
