Dear Students: To achieve, one must use head work and hard work. You are selling yourself short if you do not use both to your greatest potential. The choice jobs in our nation today require education. College degrees are accepted as abilities in head work. One will find that without hard work, education is of little value. Our world of work will continue to be more competitive year by year. Those that are prepared will move to the top. The senior class of 1972 possesses great abilities in many areas. Great accomplishments are expected from them. They should move to top leadership. Sincerely J.E. Hargrave J.E. Hargrave, Superintendent Board of Education: John McHale, President; Gaylord Hendrix, Secretary; Bill Gorrell, Vice-President; Ray Walsh. Standing: Robert Jones, Larry Bartram, and Max Moore. 4 Mrs. Betty Slagle, Unit Secretary and Bookkeeper and Mrs. Inez Crim, Secretary and School Treasurer. The class of 72” is one of the smallest to graduate from Bement High School in a number of years. However, what it lacks in quantity, it more than makes up in quality. It contains many very capable and talented individuals. I have a great deal of admiration for you. I view it a privilege to have worked with this class as teacher and principal. I know that you take with you a good foundation upon which to build your future. Use wisely the abilities which you have to create a better tomorrow for all to enjoy. Best Wishes Thomas R. We face the future with warm courage and high hopes. For we have a clear conscience of seeking old and precious values. For we are the builders of homes. Homes for America’s future. Homes where living will be the expression of everything that is good and fair. Homes where truth, love, faith, and security will be realities not dreams. We are the Future Homemakers of America.
