For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven; A time to be born, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; A time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to seek, and a time to lose; A time to rend, and a time to sew; A time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; Ecclesiastes 3: 1-9. A time for war, and a time for peace. BIM 1969 Bement High School Bement, Illinois Table of Contents Administration . . . Classes page 14 Organizations. . . . Sports Activities page 72 Editor Assistant Editor . . Beth Koebel Advisors Mr. Taylor Mrs. Hughes A Time to Lead For twelve years, I have had the great pleasure of observing the young people of Bement grow in stature, achievement, standards of conduct, and character. All should seek training beyond high school. Seek a profession that will give you security, pride and enjoyment for the forty years or more that you will be gainfully employed. One must give something to his community and country during these years. Live honorably among your fellowmen. Be kind and tolerant. Act with courage and conviction. Fulfill your obligations as a citizen. Stand with men of good will for truth, justice, and equality. May your journey among men be a rewarding one. Remember the substitute for freedom is anarchy. Superintendent J. E. Hargrave 6 Gaylord Hendrix Bob Jones Frank Lux and a Time to Plan It is hard to realize that another school year has slipped by, another Annual is going to press, and that another class is preparing to graduate. It seems only yesterday that the Class of 1969 was a group of green freshmen. It has been a pleasure to be associated with the Class of 1969. To have shared with you the joys and happiness, the work, the sorrows that have been yours these past four years. I wish you well upon graduation and look forward to seeing you in the years to come.
