’65-’66 Timeline of B.H.S. Mrs. Raylene Scholtens gives her undivided attention to Editor Vic Manny and Co-editor Steve Ayers as she decides it is time to get going. This volume evinces the fact that the BIM staff eventually got busy and found that knee deep in photographs, with their fingers in the glue, copy sheets, and typewriter ribbons, it actually could be fun. We now look back and realize that the bickering, panic sessions, the mounds of photos and paper, and the gray hairs added to Mrs. Scholtens' head represent to us the highpoint of the school year. Indeed, we sincerely hope that you, the reader, will enjoy reliving a few moments of this year with the compliments of the 1966 BIM staff. SEATED: Diane Shepherd. The Big Moment . . . •’STRANGER ON THE SHORE Joey Thompson, Crystal Durbin, and Jody Jarboe witnessed the highlight of the 1965 Homecoming, the crowning of their majesties Wendy Taylor and Mary Medaris by escorts Ray Plummer and John Hendrix. On the night of October 15, through the magic of decorations, our gymnasium was transformed into an enchanting ocean shoreline. As tension mounted, the lights dimmed and the royal attendants entered, followed by Her Majesty Mary Medaris and Her Majesty Wendy Taylor. For the first time since 1927, the student body elected co-queens. Don Smith and his band provided soft music which enhanced the mood of Stranger on the Shore.
