Juniors Entertain eniors The juniors were hosts to the seniors and the faculty on April 25. They spent many hours decorating and getting ready for the big event. When the exciting evening arrived, the guests were ushered into the Oriental Gardens. This was a lovely setting for a lovely evening, A false ceiling and Japanese decorations transformed the gymnasium into an enchanting scene. A tiny but beautiful garden with a cherry treeinbloom beside a quaint bridge occupied the middle of the floor China figurines decorated the tables and the guests were allowed to keep them as souvenirs The girls in their beautiful formals danced with their handsome escorts to the music of TheF renchmen. Time out was taken from the dancing for picturetaking and conversation. The guests who were free to eat at any time, emoyed the delicious menu consisting of hors d oeuvres ham chicken salad fruit salad potato chips sandwiches cookies andpunch. The Juniors mothers dressed in colorful Oriental cos tumes did the serving. Formne cookies which contained PISGICIIOHS for the future, delighted the guests when eleven o clock came, everyone agreed that it had been a memorable prom. 18

Enchanted Island Homecoming enthusiasm mo unted Friday afternoon when the band and twirlers led the Homecoming parade. Following the band was the float representing an en- chanted island occupied by the five queen candidates. Next came the players and the cheering students. Elated Bulldog fans were well rewarded by the action packed game with Arthur. The final 26-O score was proclaimed by the victory shouts of the Bement spectators. S . Excitement prevailed Thursday evening as Homecoming activities were touched off by the shouts of hopeful fans gathered a- t round the bonfire at the footballfield. From here students snake danced their way through the streets of Bement while spirits soared and voices grew hoarse. 1 s .1 'T' During the halftime of the game, the band marched smartly down the east side of the football field and stood at attention. All eyes turned toward the center of the arch formed by the band instruments. Then slowly, amid cheers, an Enchanted Island moved through the arch. Under a palm tree sat five beaming queen candidates: Pat Scott, Ann Wilkin- son, Penny Pope, Peggy Westray and Martha Hinton.
