JUNIOR SENIOR PROM On April 26, 1958, at seven-thirty, the small gymnasium of Bement High was filled with APRIL LOVE. This was the night that the juniors entertained the seniors at the annual Prom. As they arrived, the seniors were greeted by a small group of juniors who escorted them into the pink powder room. Here they hung their wraps, freshened up, or relaxed. Then they entered The Patio. It was beautifully decorated with a stone wall around the edge. Above this wall was green crepe paper lattice-work. From the top of the lattice-work, a false ceiling of matching green crepe paper extend- ed to the center where balloons hung. After visiting until 8:00 PM., everyone started dancing to the music of the Paul Karlstrom Orchestra. This orches- tra provided rhythms ranging from rock 'n' roll to rhimibas to waltzes. Later in the evening a buffet dinner was served by several of the sophomore girls at a table at the south end of The Patio. On this candle-lighted table was a delicious array of food including deviled eggs, olives, stuffed prunes. pineapple chunks, pickles, radishes, and carrot curls inserted by multi-colored toothpicks into heads of lettuce, open-faced sand- wichesg cold cut horns, ribbon sandwichesg creamed chicken on croutonsg lime gelatin salad, cherry tarts, and lemonade. Tables lighted from above by Japanese lanterns were were provided for eating behind the stone wall on the east. Through- out the evening pictures, if wanted, were taken by the Kam- era Klub. Promptly at eleven o'- clock the orchestra played their final number, ending an evening of APRIL LOVE and delightful memories. .I v ' l
