FACULTY MR. WILLIAM CHANDLER, football and track coach.teaches World History and American History. Boys' physical education is also supervised by Mr. Chandler. Other duties are those of being ad v is or to the Sophomore class and to the B-Club. MISS PEARL SWAIM is the teacher of Latin and Freshman and Sophomore English. Her duties as advisor include those of helping the school paper's staff and the Freshman class. MR. THOMAS HENSLEY conducts an experiment on distillation. This is his first year of teaching at Be men t High. His classes include chemistry, biology, and general science. He is a Freshman class advisor.

MR. WALTER SLATER, superintendent of Community Unit No. 5, has the responsibility of organizing and carrying out the educational program of the community. In addition to his administrative duties, he teaches a class in physics. Mr. Slater not only gives academic advice to the students, but takes a personal interest in them all. The class of '55 wishes to thank him for his friendly counsel. i MR. DONALD WOODARD, our principal, is a very busy man! In addition to his daily chores as principal, he teaches civics, economics, and world geography. Later in the day, you will find him in the gym, coaching basketball. We feel that Mr. Woodard has been a definite asset in helping us plan our high school years. We will always remem oer this helpful guidance. MISS JANET McCOLLUM competently and cheerfully performs her duties as office secretary.

FACULTY MR. RICHARD MILLS is here explaining the intricacies of an algebra problem to a student. He conducts classes in practical mathematics, algebra, and trigonometry. In addition to his teaching, Mr. Mills is assistant football and basketball coach, base -ball coach, and advisor to theB-Club. MISS ISABELLE HOUSTON, who teaches third and fourth year English, has the job of advising the Senior class in their activities. These include the annual and the senior play. She is also high school librarian. MISS BETTY FOWLER demonstrates the proper method of drawing a bow. She is physical education teacher for all high school and upper grade school girls. Miss Fowler is faculty advisor to the G. A. A. and the Sophomore class.
