Sophomores f + f True to our hopes of last year we returned to Bement Townshlp Hlgh School as Sully Sophomores ln September 1942 Last year the offlcers were all glrls wlth the exceptlon of Bob Hlll who was the member of the Athletlc BOHIG of Control Thls year however some changes were made The offlcers elected were all boys They were Raymond Brxttenham presldent Wally Lamb VICQ presldent Wally Ward, secretary and treasurer and James Lleb Athletlc Board of Control mem ber The boys proxed to be as capable as the glrls ln guldmg us through the year Durlng our homecomlng festlvltles vue elected Joanne Taylor as our candidate for queen All were very dlsappomted when another candidate was elected Among the cheer leaders our class was represented by Emlly Clapp and Edxth Camden Our flrst blg soclal event vxas a party on October 16 The evemng was spent 1n playxng group games and dancmg Our refreshments were dough nuts and apple cider With the help of Mr DHVIGS and MISS Flsher our class sponsors our party went over wlth a bang In the dance band Klng Korn and Hls Twelve Kernels members of our class took an actlve part Wlthout Wally Ward on the cornet Harold Wallace on the trombone Lee Barnhart and Emlly Clapp on saxaphones and Mary McPherson on the cla11net we feel the dance band would lack talent As we left the bulldlng thlg spung me VNQIG all hoplng to return IH the fall as Jolly JUHIOFQ 1 1 ll r I N1 u x lhl f.
