Then with the ,coming of spring quite a bit of work was done on their field crop projects which Franklin Gaisler and George Beers keep the equipment in order. The Ag. boys show their fine workmanship by refinishing the school bus. consisted of ten acres of hay, three acres of corn and two acres of apples. Regular chapter meetings with interesting pro- grams were held each month. A report of the supervised farming activities showed that chapter members completed seventy- two farm projects, seventy-four farm improvement projects and demonstrated 199 supplementary farm practices. . With all of these activities we can easily see that the F.F.A. is doing a fine job of producing a better farmer for the future. M.Ed., Rutgers University All Americans have some responsibilities in common, both as individuals and as citi- zens. Therefore, there have been some studies and activities that all of you have shared. The remaining time in school was devoted to elective subiects which were chosen by you to tit your particular in- terests, needs and abilities. This is the philosophy of our educational program. May it be a vehicle to your obiectives in life. Good wishes to you. However, remember, it takes a bit more than wishing to reach the pinnacle of success. Mario P. Grippi iff! . X Principal MR. FRED J. VOWINKEL B.S., Manhattan M.A., Lehigh University You who are graduating in the Class of 1959 are passing another important milestone in your life. With this step many of you will soon leave home for various purposes. Some will go away to school, others will start to work and a few will marry and make homes of their own. This freedom from parental supervision will bring you serious responsibilities. We hope that your education has helped to give you the background to use your time wisely and to enable you to think and come to decisions that are right. Enjoy your liberties and your right to think for yourself. Covet them dearly for, although often taken for granted, they are two of the most priceless possessions you will ever have. Fred J. Vowinkel Principal Bnard nf Education Another school year is coming to an end and Belvidere High, like all schools and colleges in the country, is again graduating a fine class of pupils. Each member of the Class of I959 will leave a bit of his personality behind when he departs in June, and he will take a bit of the personality of Belvidere High with him as he goes through life. This group has seen a good many changes take place here, and has left its own mark on the school, as each class does. During the graduating exercises in June, each member of the Class of 1959 will proudly step forth and receive his diploma. He will receive, also, a handshake and a word of farewell. Both will be sincere. To each graduate we wish a life of success and happiness. HARRY L. ACKERMAN, President Board of Education ofthe Town of Belvidere SEATED: Mr. R. Emele, Mrs. J. Pierce, Mr. G. Jones Dedication Life begins as though it were a mountain brook. In its immaturity it babbles along the stretches and curves, happy in its youth and new-found freedom and indifferent to its course As time goes on this stream of life flows ever more slowly penetrating deeper and deeper into its bed of wisdom No longer can its careless babbling be heard In its place can be felt the maturity that can come about only with the passing years To the challenges of the future and the hope that the wisdom to face them will be ours when needed we dedicate our Year book We have every confidence that we shall share a full measure of the promise of to morrow but remember to do it with a deep humility and gratitude to God I f .
