eniom add in euue As senrors we stand on the threshold of countless new experrences Many of us wrll contrnue our educatrons some wrll be entermg the bustness world But regardless of our decrsrons at thrs trme we wrll never forget our hrgh school days Let s look back to that beautrful day rn the fall of 1947 when we frrst became students at Belvrdere Hrgh School Our 139 freshmen were arded by Mrs Sellers and Mtss Frnnegan When our prestdent and vtce presrdent Wayne Bender and Augre Reese moved away from Belvrdere they were replaced by Bob Sewell and jackre Wrllrs Ed Vfych That fall rntroduced rnto B HS a new form of rnrtratron for freshmen Each freshman home room presented tts talent rn a clever skrt Our frrst Homecomrng the football game agamst Rochelle-was really a thrrllrng experrence Helen Warner was our frrst queen candrdate The ftrst Varrety Show rn whrch we partrcrpated proved to be qurte encour agmg for we won second place wrth our skrt Fun at Club Q1 That year we sponsored three booths at the Booster Carnrval joanmarre Tomberg was our carnrval queen candrdate In the fall of 48 the class chose Judy Crrtzmacher and Don Rowe for rts Pep Week representatrves We agarn competed rn the Varrety Show but wrth less success than prevrously Della De V res and Ed Frdder were chosen to be our candrdates for the Booster Carnrval Mrss Rodd and Mrss Schoch gave us much help especrally wrth our matn project of the year the decoratrons for the annual Trl Class dance For thrs we chose the suttable theme The 49ers Our offrcers that year were Audrey Srnrth presrdent joanmarre Tomberg vtce presrdent Bee Davrs secretary and Paul Tamanauskas treasurer Mtss Owens and Mrss Blackburn capably advrsed us dur mg our rumor year one qurte rmportant to the class of 51 Bob Sewell Ed Fldder Bud Esmond and Charles Srmpson Page nxteen lCOI'5 Bud Esmond Secretary Ed lnrdder Treamrer Don Rowe Vzce prerzdcnr Bob Sewell Prerzdenf were chosen to lead us that year The class was well satrsfred wrth rts royal blue sweaters and hexagonal shaped rtngs That years football queen candrdate was joanmarre Tom berg Many of the rumors became candy gtrls sellrng school supplres m the halls and candy at the games That wrnter the Student Councrl sponsored a Chrrstmas decoratron contest rn whrch our Lrttlest Angel decoratrons tred wrth those of the senrors That sprrng by popular vote our Booster Carnrval krng and queen candrdates Lots Karr and Paul Tamanauskas gatned thrrd place Durrng our rumor year two of our class members became members of the Natronal Honor Socrety and two were elected to Qurll and Scroll Galey Shappert was the recrprent of the Mantle Our l st and most rmportant project that year was the junror Semor Banquet and Prom for whtch we chose as our theme South Pacrfrc Our Prom commrttee made this a really memorable occaston And then before we could realrze rt we were sentors For the thrrd trme we elected all boys for class offrcers namely Bob Sewell presrdent Don Rowe vxce prestdent Bud Es mond secretary and Ed Frdder treasurer Our senror ad vrsors were Mrss Harrrs Mrss Smrth and Mr McAll1ster Our frnal Homecommg Marlene Turner and Ed Wych represented the Class of 51 rn the btggest and best Pep Week our school has known The sentor class took frrst prtze rn the newly organlzed float contest wrth tts float theme Well Cage Em' The game played agarnst Woodstock was won by the Bucs frnal score 13 to 0 Frnally graduattonl Yes followtng that day who knows to what goals the paths of the class of Sl wrll lead?
