BRYAN HARGROVE Bryan has been known as an outstanding athlete throughout his years at Belton High School. He has been a three-year member ofthe varsity football team as well as the track team. He advanced to Regional competition in track both his junior and senior year and placed third in the State Mile Relay hisjunior year. He has been a three-year member of the Latin Club, and served as Club President and Caesar his senior year. Ronald has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years and was President his senior year. He was voted Most Likely to Succeed and the 1974 Optimist Club voted him Outstanding Belton High Boy. He has been a member of the 4-H for nine years and is the Boy's Vice-Chair- man of the Texas 4-H Council. OUTSTANDI G DANA FLOYD Dana has been a member of the Marching 100 for three years and served as secretary her senior year. She has been a member of the National Honor Society for three years. She became LAIR editor after serving on the staff for a year. Dana was the student director of the senior play. She was voted Outstanding Junior and was a Girls State Alternate. Dur ing herjunior year she received the English Departmental Award and the American Heritage Achievement Award. The 1974 Optimist Club voted her as the Outstanding Belton High Girl. Dana placed fourth in U.I.L. shorthand her senior year and is Salutatorian of her class. He is concerned with all aspects of student life on campus. As assistant principal, Mark Anderson's primary duties are those related to attendance and disciplinary problems. Mrs. Linda Fowler not only does clerical work in the office but is also responsible for special student services. Taking care of registers and teachers' files is Mrs. Brown, our state funded aid. Mrs. Shirley Hughes and Elvin Tomlinson return for another year as counselors. They schedule the students' courses and provide information about various colleges around the state. A party was held for this year's retiring faculty members. At this party, which was hosted by the silver bowls were presented to the LOUISE BARNES SENIOR ENGLISH Louise Barnes has been teaching in Belton schools for sixteen years. She has taught English in both the traditional classroom method and um. teachers of the English department, honorees. They were also given silver plat- ters by the administration at the last faculty meeting of the year. under the new LAP system. Her husband, O. A. Barnes, was business manager for the B.I.S.D. for sev- eral years preceding his retirement. Following her retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Barnes plan to work on their hobbies and do some traveling and fishing. GERTRUDE YORK LIBRARIAN Gertrude York has been employed in Belton schools for twenty-one years. For many years, she has been librarian at Belton High School. Mrs. York has kept the library well- stocked with up-to-date books as well as magazines and newspapers. Besides being the librarian, Mrs. York has also been financial sponsor of THE LAIR for quite some time, and has been a great help to the staff.
