One word could describe the lives of men-and that word is 'ichallengef' The first challenges were walking for the first time and learning to tie your own shoelaces and riding a bike without training wheels. Then came the challenge of playing baseball so well all the fellows wanted you on their team or setting the table so Mama didn't have to reset it. Next came the challenge of having more expected of you. You were supposed to make good grades and do things with- out being told. , Then there was the immense challenge of being able to say just the right thing when you asked her for a date or being charming and beautiful when he came by to take you to the game. There will be challenges yet to come that are even greaterg we are told. How we meet these challenges will be our lives' stories. THE LAIR looks to the challenges faced here at Belton High School from September, 1969, to May, 1970.
