Sometime during the Thirties school spirit was running high and it was decided that Belton High School should have an official song. When no one offered to become a composer, Mr. C. B. Ransom, who was principal, suggested that the school song from the high school in Birmingham, Alabama, be used. The song was tried out at an assembly and the stu- dent body liked in Although it was to be temporary it is still used.

DEDICATION It has only been three years since Mrs. Rosemary Johnson was first pictured in the faculty section of a Belton Lair. She started as an American history and an English instructor, but her average day now includes lending a sympathetic ear to some poor teenager, giving a boost to someone's morale, taking teasing from two-hundred sixty stu- dents, corralling ele- ven members of the annual staff, and ex- erting her energy and understanding of the student body to their greatest capacity. We, the Student Body of Belton High School, by popular vote, very proudly and with great respect and affection dedic ate this edition of the Lair to our very own. .. Mrs. Johnson
