THE DOCTOR IN SPITE OF HIMSELF The Doctor in Spite of Himself, Belton High School's first production of the 1959-60 season, was presented by members of the junior class under the direction of Mrs. Sally Graham and the student director, Patricia Ellison. The play, a comedy by Moliere, depicts the hilarious situation that arises when Sganarelle, a woodcutter, is mistaken for a doctor and is forced to treat a patient, The plot thickens when he dis- covers the patient is only pretending to be sick in order to escape marrying a man she doesn't love. Auction display FAMILY FUN FAIR Providing an evening of fun for people of all ages, the third annual Family Fun Fair, sponsored by the Beta Mothers' Club, enabled the members of the Beta Club to attend their state convention at St. Louis. was F MILY FUN FAIR One of the highlighting features, the Jail .14 STUDE T GOVER ME T DAY To inform the students of the workings of Cass County's government, the students from all the county schools went to Harrisonville on November 19, 1959. Belton High sent its Student Council to another term. During the afternoon session, Charles Nethaway gave a speech about the duties of the prosecuting attorney. Two weeks later Charles Nethaway and Terry I-lulen, the two top officials of the Belton Student Council, tied for first place honors in an essay contest on the FIRST: Marsha Bagby, Ronnie Harris, James Satterfield, Barbara Lewis, Jeanne Ansley, Terry Bill Hulen, BACK: Pam Dickman, 'Barbara Letzig, Jim Startin, I-I, D, Meador, Jimmy Houston, Jimmy Blair. Terry Bill Hulen Judge ofthe Circuit Court presides with Charles Nethaway, prosecuting attorneyg H. D. Meador, clerk, James Satterfield, coronerg and Ronnie Harris, sheriff, subject, Education Through County Government Day, conducted by the American Legion. Their GSS-WS were published by the B E L T O N STAR HERALD, Student Government Day, when all the county officials took time out to help the students under- stand, was sponsored by the American Legiong lullch WQS Drovided by the Ladies Auxiliary.
