EUT RE TEACHERS OF AMERICA FUTURE TEACHERS OF AMERICA Organized for the first time during this year, the Future Teachers of America became officially the Dor- Lo Club when its national charter was presented by Mr, Wille at an assembly in January. Open to any high school student interested in teach- ing as a career, the Dor-Lo Club plans its meetings to provide information and inspiration for its members. In- cluded were speakers on the subjects, TV and the Teacher, Teaching the Hanidcappedf' and Pre-College Credits. At one meeting the F. T. A, members from Lee's Summit were guests for a panel discussion of Teacher Requirements and Salaries. Dor-Los also attended the F. T, A, conferences at Warrensburg and at the University of Kansas City. At Christmas time the members visited the Grand- view Restorium and presented a program of carols as one of their service projects for the year. A one-hundred dollar scholarship was awarded to the outstanding senior member at commencement. Money was raised through a Faculty Men-vs-Varsitybasketball game.
