BASKETBALL SQUAD OF 1053-SLT First Row--Bruce Pressly, Vernon Mucke. Second Row--KJ. H. Wyatt, Managerj, Eddie Greenwell, Gary Center, Don Sutton, and Coach Coomes. Third Row--Johnny Jackson, Bob Carter, Harry Knoche, and Elmer Bishop. Fourth Row--Milton Arnold, Harold Arnold, Roland Nethaway, Johnny Groh, and Fred Lininger. Co-Captains Vernon Kucke, Bruce Pressly The Pirates had a slow start in Basketball, but steadily imrroved as the season nrogressed. Much of the credit goes to Coach Coomes, who molded the team into one which always pave a good account of itself. The Pirates reached their beak of nerformance in the Sub-Regional Tourn- ament, in which they made a very good showing. The Pirates are a very young team, with only l senior on the startinr S, and, with added exrerience gained this year, should nrove to be a hard team to beat in years to comet
