Th coming of the fourth grade broJgn+ us threc young lovlles, Ruby Groh, Vvelyn Greenwell, and Norma Stevens who later prov- ed their being The fifth grade found with us Betty Baldwin, Le Coots and olaudette Oarpen+er Shr, little Phyllis Hall 1o1ned us the go by without remembering the look on Bruce Presslj's face when his mother came to visit school one day and found him standing in the on the During how we It's a corner Ohl We ustn't let Wyley hyatt forget sitting teacher's lap because he couldn't keep quiet the seventh grade Bob Hopper joined our ranks Remember studied that fairly new subgect, 'American History' wonder Mrs Monroe didn't quit with that The eightn grade brought us toat handsome pair, Patsy Wyman and Gordon Smith That year we made history w1th our basketball teams The girls and boys both en+ered a tournament at Green- wood Say, girls, did we ever ge+ our trophy' Elmer Bishop and Bill Varner came to Belton from High Blue our Freshman year Also, olaudette Carpenter who left us during the sixth grade came bac' +o us from the sannf state of Nevada le were oroud to have Maxine Ashbaugh as a Homecoming Queen cand date Our Tunior year Mary Herndon, Homer Pratt, and Lowell Tate moved into Belton On October 50th we presented 'Springtime for Ptsy' and from the crowd's applause, we felt it was quite a success nlimaxing this year we gave the Junior Senior Banquet with a Hawaiian theme We also broke records with our magazine sales Charlene Kincaid and Gerald Hannafbrd entered our school to make it one of the best Paullne Hankins was elected Football Queen to add a bit of royalty to our class The highlights of the year were the Silver Bell Prom with +he Senior slay h Atomic Blond' a close second This history has brought our past up to the present and with lt we take our first big step into the future We will always remember our friends and teachers at B H S and new we're setting out to make them remember us s X . , , , . , I . e S' U V O 5, . o , 5' I . amor Prophecy Imagine yourself watching the take offs and landings at the T W A Jet Airport on December 31 1963 The following is an idea of what you 'night see Arriving at the a'rport, ln his sleek black Cadillac, Walt Webber, the world's champion golfer, and his loyal caddie, Lowell Tate, prepares t make a flight to California to see the Rosebowl Game Walking into the lobby, Walt sees fhirley Liringer now working in the experimental kitchen at T W A As he walked out on the field, he saw Mr and Mrs Bruce Pressly boarding the plane Bruce is a success ful chemical engineer His wife is the former Mary Jo Herndon Walt finds his seat with the aid of the hostess Pauline Hankins, and begins to read his newspaper Glancing over his paper he sees the names of several of his former tudents Elnora Helt, a famous Obste trlcian, is making a lecture tour of the country, accomparied by two nurses, Marion Sue Wyatt and Betty Hopper, the world's greatest stock car drivers, are appearing in Pasadena the week of his visit Jerr Hankins, a wealthy dalryman, Wyley Wyatt and Gerald Hannaford, ranchers, are going to Europe to attend an agricultural convention On the afternoon of the Rosebowl Game, January l l96h, Walt arrives at the stadium in time to see the players coming onto the field with their famous coach, Elmer Bishop After the game, the 'Sh graduates held a reunion at the home of Mr and Mrs Elmer Bishop Our hostess was the former Patsy Wyman Living next door to the Bishop's are Chuck and Evelyn Pendleton As Walt looked over the guests, he saw Maxine Ashbaugh, now a John Powers Model, Norma stevens, a key bunch operator, and Ruby Groh, an Interior Decorator Ruby had just finished decorating the Bishop's new home Also Gordon Smith, now a Geologist for the U S Government, was talking to Carolyn Harris about her job as a dental assistant Phyllis Hall and Charlene Kincaid are telling Pat Bishob about their jobs as secretaries at the M G M Studios Claudette Carpenter, a laboratory technician, is talking to Homer Pratt, an architectural engineer In Elmer's den we see Bill Warner, a Chrome Plater at the General Motor Plant, and Lee Coots, an lndus trial Engineer We also see Verl Bowers, a trouble shooter for the Bell Telephone Company As Walt looks over this group, he felt proud that everyone of the students has made success in the world I Q 0 0 3 , l L 6 u 1 f 9 - !
