ACTIVITIES Made costumes for operatta given by junior high music department. Sent delegates to regional meet- ing ofhome economics clubs at Ohio University. Participated in Washington Co u- nty Fair. Exhibited at Barlow Fair. ber with a business meeting. In October the annual supper was giv- en, with Irs. Dale Brookhart in charge. Some of the proceeds of the supper were spent for geography and history maps, and reading cir- cle books. The November business meeting was followed by a social period and refreshments. In Dec- ember, Mr. Lucas gave an interest- ing and instructive talk on the Pan-American Peace Conference. The meeting was completed witha Christ- mas tree and white elephant gifts. Mr. LaFavcr led in carol singing. Mrs. Dale Welch told the Christmas story and Mrs. J.Sidney Stone read the Christmas story from the gospel of Luke. There was no meetin in January due ta,high water. The February business meeting was followedby two duets played by Frances Dempsey and Catherine Ellenwood. In March Professor Eggleston of Marietta College lectured on HHeredity and Environment.' Eileen Bradley sang. A social hour followed. The April meeting will be conducted by the teachers of the grade buildings. The P. T. A. sponsored an amateur show and movie April 1-2. Scenes of Belpre, Rockland and vicinity were taken. Townspeople were pic- tured at their work. In addition to the movie, and auction was held each nite by Dale lelch. Anamateur show was given by Lee Perryof'Park- ersburg who presented a number of his pupils. Phyllis layman The chief aim of the club is to do the things that members would like to do in class if time permit- ted. The meetings are held the first and third Mondays of each month. Each member must average B in conduct and in social science. Edmond Majeski led one meeting, preparing a model harbor to illus- trate his topic of NSh1ps'. At Christmas members placed presents of different lands under a Christ- mas tree and were served refresh- ments of different lands. Another meeting was given over to the 'City of London'. The buildings, park, streets, and other interesting ob- jects were discussed. The Pres- ident's Cabinent was studied and presented as the Club's assembly program for the year. The meetings are held every Thursday morning in the activity p er iod. Any person from the ninth grade to the twelfth who is passing at least 3 subjects may join. Each member pays 10d tui- tion fee and Sd a month dues, fur- nishes his own camera, films a nd pays for paper used in printing the pictures. This club served greatly in tak- ing pictures developing and print- ing pictures fcr the high school annual.
