Some have moved away, several have withdrawn, and we have a few new members. Among the tenth grade activities of this year, basketball played a very important part. Five girls made the squad and five boys play- ed with the reserves. All these ten students provide promising material for next years's basket- ball season. The tenth grade eontribwted two assewbly programs. The first one, we vie proud to say, was written by 3'wIHbCT of our class, Edith Frashw e. The script called for a smal: dog and Mrs. MeCanlsky was kind enouch to let us have the use 0an.,Z','JfI V A ov' of Popeye , her pet terrier. Edith took the leadiny nart in her original ple' as the wealthy old dowafor whosed dog was kidnapped. Eva Ruth Jewelers played a piano solo, entitled Mid- MARIETTA, 0R10 night Fire Alarm. Also Mildred Ford and Dean Davis entertained , s the student body by a dialogue while Betty Deeble attended to the announcing. HISTORY A more naive group of Freshmen could never be found than those who tipltoed to their seats in 19344 Mr. Lightfritz kidded us through a too-sober semester as high school freshmen. Second semester found ui more spotlight-way in the American Legion Essay contest. Sophonores, and getting our ship under way, we contributed valuable material to band, orchestra, a n d glee club, capturing the lead i n the operetta. In this, our junior year,we play- ed our roles as well as possible: Through cooperation one with anoth- er and with the rest of the school I we hive worked and played this year our goal nearing, our school days slowly closing behind us. The junior class gave two assen- blies this year.
