KOLMAN COPP WORK FOR SUCCESS Congratulations to the Seniors of “84”, may this year’s richness and memoirs sustain you in your future. Perhaps, even more important may this education provide the basis for your future. We know great opportunity and challenge faces every individual each day of our life. I would like to suggest three ways of looking at these opportunities and challenges to receive the maximum. a. Time is our most valuable asset and should be treasured above all. Planning saves time. b. Plan for success. The world famous Olympic athlete Jesse Owens said, “I built a ladder and this ladder had four rungs. 1. Determination; 2. Dedication; 3. Discipline; 4. Attitude. An excellent means of describing a winner.” c. Your actions are much more important than your words. Mark Twain observed, “Thunder is good, thunder is impressive; but lighting is what does the work.” Will you be Thunder, Lighting or a cloud in the sky? A quote by Robert Louis Stevenson reminds me of our main goal at Beloit Jr.-Sr. High. He once said, “To be what we are and to become what we are capable of becoming is the only end of life.” It is to this end that the students and faculty dedicate themselves during the 1983-84 school year. ‘ XiU In conclusion, live each day to the fullest through planning and doing. I would like to thank each student for the time shared and cooperation during the past year. May God's blessing go with each of you. J' I Verlin R. Kolman James R. Copp
