TO MEET STUDENT NEEDS The teaching staff of 1982 dedicated much of their time to student activities; Mr. Harrison government teacher and senior class sponsor; Mr. DeVore, Vocational Agriculture teacher, sponsored the Future Farmer Association Club. Mr. Elder sponsored Art and Photo. He also helped make the annual Beloit Art Show very successful. Mrs. Franklin helped sponsor the cheerleaders this year by arranging pep rallies and helping with decorations. Miss Gillmore helped out with senior high Y-teens. Mr. Williams, lent his room to the juniors for their meetings. 11

Vocational Agriculture By the end of the year, most students were acquainted with at least one of the teachers pictured on the following pages. If nof in their classes, surely through clubs or sports. Mr. Caldwell taught freshman English, world history, Comp Grammar. In addition he assisted in coaching junior high football and high school girls basketball. Mr. Cousland spent most of his time helping the special education classes learn new skills. Mr. Campbell, and Mr. Hoestje showed superior dedication in their work with students. Mrs. Newcomer helped get the Junior Class through the hassels of prom. Mrs. Larson stayed busy keeping the library organized. 10

Physical Education Phyllis Struble. Science Larry Smith. Mathematics Sharon Treaster, Language Arts Mr. Robichaud, Mr. Bice, and Mr. Harbaugh lead the BHS Music Departments to a very successful year. Mr. Seirer was head football coach, junior high boys basketball coach and assistant track coach. He also sponsored the Lettermens Club. Mr. Smith's talents were demonstrated as head girls and boys track coach and as assistant boys basketball coach. Miss Johnson spent most of her time coaching girls volleyball and basketball. Mr. Piazza, state champion 3A wrestling coach in 1982, took his team all the way for another great year. 12
