STUDENT COUNCIL The American Field Service was the main interest of the Beloit High Student Coun- cil this year., Stuco raised money for this organization by sponsoring dances, coke breaks, selling stock, and staging the annual benefit AFS basketball night, The Student Council also painted the picnic tables of the Beloit Lutheran Park. Tender is the Night was the theme of the Junior-Senior Banquet held May 6 at the Munic- ipal Building. Mike Stewart, junior class presi- dent, extended the welcome, and John Hodler, senior class president gave the response. Father Hoover gave the invocation. The junior girls ensemble sang Tender is the Night and More, Miss Masters, the main speaker, pre- sented a talk entitled, Now is the Time. A skit, Great Caesar's Ghost, was presented by Greg Olson and Terry Jennison. The Glasco Dance Band provided music for the prom, S? . TROJAN BAND Highlights of the year for the Trojan band were their performances at all home football games, Band Day at Manhattan, and at the half time of the Veteran's Day game at Lincoln. They presented a winter concert, made a spring IOUI of three neighboring schools, and rated a II at the state music contest. Their annual show was Caribbean Cruise , written and directed by Carl Fitzgerald, It featured the stage band, the Mark IV group, the twirlers, and Kathy Snyder, vocalist, and dancing groups. Settings for the three acts were Jamaica, Hawaii, and the USA for the Hulla-Balloo A-Go-Go. TWIRLERS: Connie Lawson, Phyl lis Remley, and Beverly Pearson.
