L 6.5 dence Although the first meeting was not held until Jan- uary, this year's Science Club has probably done more work than any previous group. A week after the first meeting, the club made a trip to the Techno- logical Instrument Corp. The group was very inter- ested to see the precise work and delicate machinery each instrument required. This year the club decided to have a special day for their exhibit, rather than trying to crowd the show into Field Day as has been the custom in the past. In spite of the short notice to the participants, the fair, which was held on April thirteenth, had sur- prisingly many interesting projects. First prize was awarded to Ted Eyrick ,57 for his excellent working scale model of a wind tunnel. James XlacMahon '60, Won second prize for his exhibit of the day by day de yelopment of a chicken embrs o Third prize was vi on by Ronald Evans 60 for his model of the muscular structure of the arm. Following the fair, Ted Eyrick's wind tunnel was sent to the State Science Fair at M.I.T. where he won a third prize. President of the club for this year was Suprija hlokkhavisa '56, whose interest and enthusiasm proved a great motivating factor in the club's suc- cess this year. On April twenty-second, the club invited Professor Evans of M.I.T. to talk before the group. He gave an interesting lecture on the peaceful uses of atomic energy which was supplemented by a highly inform- ative film. This concluded the activities of the 1956 Science Club. The club wishes to express its thanks to Mr. Carlisle for all the help and guidance he has given them during the past season, and it also hopes that Science Clubs will flourish with equal success for years to come at Belmont Hill F1rs!Rou fi Welch littlefield Lerman 'Niokkhaxisa Hodges Kirkwood Denny Brown Eyrlck Sec and Rau Turran foffin Aldrich G Hunt Schmaltz Watkins R Duncan Third Hou Herthessen Stone Hawthorne Emery Silk GrosJeans Lvans 64 w Y v V - .
