Having become accustomed to school life, we settled down to study the fundamentals of education: reading, writing and arithmetic, and using these as the tools of carpentry, we soon began to increase our knowledge. By constant hammering the teachers instilled into us a realization of the importance of learning. We followed the usual routine of all elementary schools until we reached the seventh grade. where we were joined by students from New Hope and East Belmont. Then came the thrill of graduation from grammar school and promotion to high school. Here we were confronted with the sturdy framework of mathematics. Latin, science, and English. Hours were spent over blackprints, and finally, with the aid of our instructors, we completed the constructional work and felt elated over the success. In our sophomore year we worked ardently to build a firm foundation for the junior year. Although we accomplished our goal that year, nothing of outstanding interest happened. The next year gave to us our first fling in school society. The Junior- Senior banquet will always be a pleasant memory of our last days at dear old Central. I And now we, the first class to have the privilege of finishing in the magnificent new high school building, are ready to leave these portals and take the high roads of life that trail somewhere into the distant future. We are deeply grateful to those who have helped and encouraged us along the way. And looking back, we wonder if there were any places where we could have changed the past to better our present.
