ADMINISTRATIDN We are very fortunate to have at Belmont two vice-principals of such outstanding caliber as Dr. Florence Alison Mecredy, and john Addison. Dr. Mecredy combines years of experience and extensive scholastic preparation with a deep in- terest in Belmont. She has been efficient in her management of the many girls' activities on the campus. As beloved sponsor of the Girls' League, she is director of such annual affairs as the GL Bazaar, Dance, Cotton Day, and Play Day. Mr. Addison is never too busy to help a fellow out if and when he runs into difficulty. This friendly administrator is active in maintaining the best possible conditions for all on the campus. ln order to direct activities in a democratic man- ner, Mr. Addison strongly supports the student participation plan recently adopted on the Hill, Our deep thanks go to these wonderful people for their untiring efforts in our behalf from day to day. By james Pain Principal Raymond I. Casey's radiant smile and amiable disposition have found their way into the hearts of the faculty and students of Belmont High School. ln the short time that he has been with us, he has won the support of everyone on our campus. With sincere wishes for many happy years to come, the Campanile staff joins in greeting Mr. Casey. Before his appointment to the Hill, Mr. C. had served for many years in the LA City school system in various capacities. He has been principal of Wilson and Torrance High Schools. During the war he enlisted in the Sea Bees as a specialist in the Platoon As- sembly, Detachment 2, where he served for two and one-half-years. ln this time his detachment was engaged in action on Caledonia, New Guinea, the Admiralty lslands, the Solomon lslands, Guam, and Okinawa. Toppers salute their new leader and hope that he will have many happy years on the Hilltop with a chance to develop in our student body the high ideals of citizenship for which he stands.
