The growth of an educated person takes time and is never truly completed. From kin- dergarten to your senior year and beyond teachers have and will use their energy and knowledge to help you reach a goal, that goal is the capacity for self education; not to be depen- dent upon, but independent of your teachers. The realization of this goal is rested both in the wisdom of your teachers past and future; and in your effort and willing participation in the edu- cational process. I hope at no time have you or will you fail to take advantage of this op- portunity. It will be complimentary to both you and your teachers if you meet the challenges of your future using the knowledge, courage, and integrity matured during your school years. Best Wishes To The Class of 1988 Kenneth Fitzpatrick Class Advisor Our High School days are now a fond memory. As we look back at our four years at Belmont High School, we should all be proud that we have worked hard, have accomplished quite a lot, and have certainly come a long way. Our accumulation of scienti- fic knowledge has helped us in our daily lives and will be use- ful in the future. We were made aware of social problems that face our country and the world, and I believe we have been stimulated enough to engage in solving these problems in the future. We have enjoyed such activities ' as the senior class play, which was very popular and hilarious; the prom, which was overcrowded but successful beyond our expectations; the ski trips, which almost ruined our reputation; and the senior Halloween Dance, which was colorful, creative, and a lot of fun. Our athletic teams have been outstanding every year. Through the years, almost all of our fall, winter, and spring teams have qualified for state competitions. We have also donated monies to various charities, and we have worked hard on school improve- ment projects. Now, we are ready to embark on a new adventure in life. We will all go our sep- arate ways, but I am confident, we will all cherish the memories from our esteemed Belmont High. My grandfather used to tell me; with drive, hard work, and dedication a man will certainly achieve success. ... if we stick to this prescription, maybe, we will all be leaders of our generation. I would like to thank the teachers and the administration for all the opportunities that they have provided for us. I thank you, the Class of 1 988, for the memories and I wish you best of luck and happiness in all your future endeavors. Ara Balikian President of Class of 1988 16
