Saint Joseph’s Rectory 345 Waverley Street Belmont, Mass. 02178 October 28, 1978 Mr. Kenneth Polcari, President Class of 1979 Belmont High School Belmont, Massachusetts Dear Kenny, Please extend my sincere appreciation to the members of your class for the superb performance of Godspell which I attended last evening. In my five years as a parish priest I have seen many high school drama productions - many of them extremely well-do ne. I have to say that this one tops them all. The acting was disciplined and true-to-lif e ; the music was accurately and professionally performed and the dancing routines were precisely done. I can ' t say enough about the effect that the performance had on me and, in fact, on the entire audience. Religion is expressed and experienced in many different ways and many varied art forms. In my opinion, the performance rendered by your class was a deeply religious experience for those who saw it. My congratulations to the cast, the musi- cians, the directors and those important people behind the scenes who made G odspell the tremendous success that it was. My single regret is that it only ran for three nights. I can think of many people who would have enjoyed seeing it if I had more time to tell them how good it was! Be assured that you and the members of your class have a remembrance in my prayers as you make some of your important life-decisions this year.
