Members of the Class of 1961: You have reached a new plateau in your preparation for your goal. Today brings a restful and welcome pause, a time to appraise the past and to reflect upon your scholastic achievement. In retrospect, you will agree that the task was not so arduous that you failed to enjoy colorful activities related to your educational training. It is well to evaluate your previous efforts, more important to take inventory of the present, and most essential to continue your endeavors in order that you may merit satisfying experiences in the years ahead. George Higginbottom Principal MR. GEORGE HIGGINBOTTOM Principal ADMINISTRATION MR. LESLIE W. CROWSON Director of Belmont Vocational High School Dear Graduates, This Classbook will serve as a pictorial review of the experiences, friendships, and activities which you have enjoyed during your high school life. JOSEPH F. KOLOUCH Vice Principal 4 Sincerely, Leslie W. Crowson Director

FACULTY TEACHERS, by their training and accomplishments, are committed to the spread of knowledge, as the doctors are to health. Teachers work in the broad field of the intellect, and have tremendous power to influence and to inspire others. The teacher imparts knowledge to students by instruction, direction, encouragement, and example, and his influence ends only at the limits of the mind. The teacher must always look forward: to improved methods, new situations, and higher goals. The teacher is expected to change and to adapt, while maintaining the highest standards of truthfulness, sincerity, and responsibility. We have looked to our teachers for these qualities, and we are proud of them, too. For their instruction, their foresight, and their dedication, we honor them. Mr. John L.
