Class Prophecy As the prophets of our class, we have the power to see far into the future. We may discover our classmates living throughout the United States. Although their occupations may seem somewhat altered from what they planned while in high school, we, nevertheless, predict that their l1fe's patterns will be designed as in the following paragraphs: Note to classmates: If what we have prophesied seems different from your own future plans, consider the number of years we have had to weigh ---- and after all we are rather young to be prophets! We prophesy that Jack Amenda will go to Hollywood after graduating from high school. Due to the death of J'IEy Durante, Jack will fulfill Durante's job. .Tack may still be a bachelor after passing by some actresses like Marilyn Monroe. Jack will become an ardent golf enthusiast and hope to enter the National Green Golf Tournament. In foretelling the future we see Leanne Belken as a secretary in Alaska. She always searched for new horizons and after Her one visit to Dawson City and the Yukon Territory in Alaska she knew that that country was big, powerful, and un- predictable. Since there were many Air Force bases with secretarial openings, she was able to secure a job at oneof these, Because of the war in Europe, Bob Bockho and his wife fthe former Sally Simmons! will be stationed in France. e wi remain with the National Guard. Bob will invent a trans-Atlantic telephone so he may talk to his two children who will be staying with thelr grandparents in Belmont, Wisconsin. The telephone will be most unusual as you will have to stand on your head while talking. A large beef cattle farm two miles north of Belmont will be managed by none other than Paul Borcherdi and his wife the former Catherine Landon. Paul won't find it necessary to re any extra help as his ten sons will help him and will also furnish him with the baseball team he always wanted. If you ever hear a goat bleat, I'm sure you will know you are coming close to the Buss Goat Ranch. Donald will take over this farm after his marriage to his former High school sweetheart, Judith Ludlum. In their spare time we predict they may drive stock cars at the Darlington Fair Grounds. The Mound View Old Ma1d's Home will be managed by Jean Dol hin. She will more than likely spend her busy hours of the dag working in t e garden because Curtis Rodolf will help her in his spare time. urtis and Jean will be locally famous for their square dancing technique. Priscilla Eustice, the editor-in-chief of our annual, will edit the paper 'Improving South Amer1ca.' She will take over this job after she and her husband, Lowell Hinkins, move there. Lowell will take a job there after graduating from Mining School. Priscilla and Lowell will have five redheaded girls. Ruth Flo el will marry Ronnie Jones and they will run a stock farm, in Mesa, Arizona. e ones' will find it necessary to have their farm quite a distance from town for with their twelve children it will be hard to keep them at home. They will have five TV sets and keep everyone of them tuned to channel 28 so they will be sure to hear Jerry Frantz, their favorite entertainer. Immediately after graduating from high school, Barbara Fowler will leave for New York City where she plans to model evening gowns. We predict her best cue- tomer will probably be Mrs. Gladys Beaumont. On her vacation, Barb will 50 to Australia to visit and old boy friend, who will become chief engineer for a gold mining company. Ten years from now, if you turn on television at seven thirty P.M. on channel 28 on Sunday you may hear none other than the great Jerry Fronts. Jerry will be sponsored by the Chevrolet dealers all over the world. He will be known for his talent for singing and playing his steel guitar. His favorite song 'The Yellow Rose of Texas,' he may dedicate to Hr. Alton Weber a favorite teacher while in high school. We predict the biggest surprise in our class will be when Jeanette Jansen marries Bob Burbach. We prophesy that they will be living in a two-story trailer in the Georgetown area. Jeanette will find it a little crowded with her five children, who will be continuously under her feet. The Burbachs will be engaged in raising chickens that lay colored eggs. Dick Kail, our Belmont Mouse Catcher, will keep the Belmont Dairy Co-op in business buying there all the Swiss cheese needed for his many traps. While catching mice at the Robbins Supper Club he will become interested in the business and we expect he will be chef there on week-ends. Looking through our crystal ball, we see Marlene Kamps as a nurse in the Cuba City Hospital. Dick Kail and some of Marlene's closer friends from Cuba City will probably be her most popular patients. Marlene will be a specialist on operating on big toes as that is the most likely spot for the pains to be centered.

Patsy Ludlum, the president of our class, will attend the U. of Wyoming and graduate with a master's degree in agriculture. While there she will take up hog calling which will prove very useful in operating her 500 acre farm on which she raises hogs exclusively. In her spare time she will write letters to our service men lone in particular! ever seas. We prophesy that Dav1d.Miller will decide to attend school in New Oreleans, Lousiana with hopes of first becoming a professional trumpet player and later playing first chair trumpet with Louis Armstrong. In his spare time he will work in a filling station in Platteville so he can be near his wife, a former high school sweetheart. The brainy student of our class, Liz Hoody, will be working in a restaurant in Livingston. Liz will enjoy serving her old classmates barbeque made from a secret recipe discovered one night at The Armory in Platteville, Wisconsin. She will not be married yet, but she will have prospects! Curtis Nodolf will take over his father's garage and convert it into a large Cadillac Firm. We predict he will be there very little but will probably rather spend his time helping Jean Dolphin in her garden and in the evening after their square dance, he and Jean will enjoy going to L1z's for a little snack. Kitty Reeves will be caretaker of a pet shop, featuring a skunk, a lion cub, and baby polar bears. We predict most of K1tty's animals will come from the Crass farm and that she gets much help from their son Paul. Reta Ruskell will surprise us by not getting married immediately after grad- uating from high school. Instead, she will take a position as bookkeeper at the Belmont Locker Plant. We predict she will progress so rapidly that she will be hired as head butcher at the Oscar Mayer Heat Packing House in Chicago. We hope you have enjoyed your little gaze into the future. Any similarity to actual plans, past, present, or future is purely coincidental. Signed Class Song Tune: YELLOW ROSE of TEXAS The day of graduation Is what we're waiting for, And to B.H.S. classes We'll come to never more. You may talk about your juniors And sing of sophomores too: But the class of '56, Is the only Class for you. Our class is bright and shiny With nineteen girls and boys. You should have seen our parties That caused a lot of noise. We've been in sports and music And had a lot of fun And think about our teachers-- How they've been on the run. In leaving Belmont High School We'll leave our memories here And when we think of Belmont There's sure to be a tear. You may talk about your juniors And sing of sophomores toog But the class of '56 Is the only class for you. Signed
