V Q-, s..,, .. -,,,- ,, , ...ge CLASS WILL I, the Class of 1949, of the High School of Belmont, having corne to the end of my long life in a peaceful and undisturbed state of, what I have always been pleased to call, my mind, in accordance with the laws of this state, do hereby give and bequeath and devise all my worldly goods and possessions with all the appurtenances and hereditaments there- unto belonging, as seemeth wise and fitting in my judgment, without taking advice or coun- sel from anyone, and without being influenced in the least by past favors or disfavors, past kindness or unkindness. I may say that in making these bequests I have been said to possess in a remarkable degree, common sense. To the faculty of the Belmont High School, I give and devise and bequeath my well-known and remarkable stock of common sense and ability to distinguish between right and wrong. To my faithful and tireless sponsor, I give and devise and bequeath all the responsibilities of the library, both pleasant and unpleasant. To my successors, the Juniors, I give and devise and bequeath my privileges and dignities. I, Bobbie Deaton, leave my technique for playing ball to Julia Clark. I, Sylvia Hamilton, leave my Chemistry knowledge to Joyce Hargett. I, Braxton Barrett, leave my intelligence to Ellis Carr, since he will need it worse than I during the following year. I, Lillian White, will my good times and troubles with boy friends to Johnnie Faye Allen. I, James Lee Short, leave my profound knowledge of English gramrnar to Dalton Sparks. I, Mildred Ivy, leave my baby talk to Hilda Pace, with the hope that she doesn't outgrow it, . I, Colleen Fly, leave my spirit of devilment to Verynelle Parker, who I think can keep it well under control. I, L. G. Holcomb, leave my loose end tongue and like for bragging to Charles George.
