The acceptance was given by the Senior Class President, Harmon Davis. Refreshrnents were served to all members of both classes and the Faculty. Each one present enjoyed the eats which included sandwiches, pickles, cake, drinks, and ice cream. The games which included Truth or Consequences, I-landkerchief Relay and others as entertaining were enjoyed by everyone present. Mr. J' . E. Brown surprised the group by giving a movie Farming is Fun. JUNIOR CLASS PLAY The Junior Class left Belmont High School on Saturday morning, April Z, 1949 for Nashville, Tennessee. We arrived there at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon. There we ergioyed various activities such as movies and sight-seeing tours of the city. At 6:00 o'clock we attended the Grand Ole Opra. As the clock struck twelve we left the auditorium and went to the bus. We arrived in Belrnont at the break-of-day Sunday morning. Each of us had enjoyed the entire trip. SENIOR CLASS TRIP The Seniors, accompanied by Mrs. Deaton and Mrs. Fulton left Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock for Sheffield picnic grounds near Wilson Dam. On the way Mrs. Deaton, the class sponsor, gave each Senior a 51.00 bill as a present from her and her husband. Upon arriving at the park, various scouting parties left to explore the mysteries of the interior. About noon Mrs. Deaton took charge of fixing a meal, which was spread under the trees by the Tennessee River. After lunch, more exploring was done by the entire group. At 2 o'clock Mr. Deaton blew the bus whistle as a signal to assemble. We bundled into the bus and went to the Shoals Theatre, where we saw Fighter Squadron. As we came from the theatre we spied a carnival where we spent the remainder of the afternoon. We returned to Belmont in time to attend the play in Golden. 17 SENIOR PARTY On Thursday night April 14, 1949 the Seniors and Faculty were entertained at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Ellis Deaton. Mrs. Greene and Marjorie Ann served each guest on arrival with iced punch and cookies, Rook tables were soon filled and a tournament was on its way. Eron Harris and Colleen Fly were awarded the prize with four games won. Mrs. Deaton, Senior Sponsor, was presented with a floor lamp from the Senior Class. Games were played on the lawn, and ice cream was served later in the party. The guests left about eight o'clock each saying he had a delightful time. as Wiglgiizi ft! df U five' 01 fi dawg gg RQWEQY fs. aw l8 JUNIOR CLASS PLAY TI-IE THIRTEENTH DAY A Mystery Place in Three Acts Cast of Characters: Boyd Jefferson --------------------------- - Euford Hall fAn unscrupulous lawyer, Mrs. Juliet Carleton ----------------------- Nancy Harris QA society matron, Paula Carleton ----------------------- -Johnnie Faye Allen fHer daughter, Creston Cook- - - ---------------------- Charles Long fEngaged to Paula, Lizzie Benton ------------------------- Vey-Nelle Parker fMrs. Carleton's maid, Delia Dunnigin ----------------------------- Bea Moore fEx-housekeeper at Mountain View , Samuel Smart ----------------------------- Bud Pardue QA stranger, Vera Smart -------------------------------- Gay Pace fHis sister, Rastus Moses Jasper Bullet ----------------- P edro Leathers fSamuel's Chauffeur, Burton Crosby -------------------------- Charles George QThe unexpected guest, Bobbie -------------- Clifford Lindsey Betty ----------- - -- ,Children --------- Joyce Burleson Time---The Present.
