SENIOR CLASS WILL I, Susan Orrison, will my place as alto horn player to my sister, Eleanor, and I hope she enjoys it as much as I have I, Hazel Young, will my place as first on the honor roll to Helen Merritt Peggy Rice, will to Sondra McCoy, a car to come to school in Dot Wise, will to Janice Fisher, the road from Barnesville to Belmont in hopes she makes it okayl I, Millie B1shop,will my place as majorette to anyone willing to PY Dot Blake, will my ability to skip study hall to Inez Doty and hope she is lucky enough to get away with it I, Gary Householder, will to Don Gatten, who really needs it, ability to get to bed early I, John Davis, will my ability to keep a safe distance from the opposite sex to Don Michalek I Richard Ogilbee, will my quiet ways to David Pyle, who really needs them I, Sue Fulton, will the senior class presidency to any junlor who wants a lot of added work, but thexe are a few advantages, such as getting out of class half of the time I, Clem Williams, w1ll my abillty to play basketball and to chase girls to Dick Har is and Brother Moore Glenna Burghy, will all the good times I've had at Belmont High my brother, Ken, and my cousin, Doris Jean Don Durigg, will my guinea pigs to Mr Moran's biology class Marilyn Cain, will my ability to anyone who has an interest in writing letters everyday of the week and to look forward to going to the post office at noon to receive a letter in return I, Jim Kemp, will my ability to get out of play practice to go see Nancy to Junior Gatten, so that he can go see her sister I, Darlene Freeman, will some musical ability Cif I have any to sparel to anyone unfortunate to need it and my ability to work on other lessons in class to anyone who doesn't know any better I Rita Jones, will my ability to not pay attention in class to my sister, Gloria, and hcpe she can get away wlth it I Jack Gordon, wlll my speedy ways and quiet manner to Wayne Vessels, who's in need of them I, Loretta Loy, will my milk selling ability to anyone wanting to make a success in the dairy business I, Sara Doty, will my ability to say the wrong thing at the wrong time, to my sister, Joyce I, Mary Ann Duvall, will my ability to chew gum louder than anyone else to anyone capable of doing it I, Dale Kemp, will my ability to farm to Chester Kemp I, Edna Carpenter, will my untamed temper to anyone unlucky enough to get it I, Pat Hinkle, will my ability of being cheerleader, which I liked very much, to anyone who's lucky enough to get it I, Pauline Powell, will my ability to get into everyone's way when he is in a hurry to Nancy Ramsay I, Pat Kobus, will my place as drum majorette to Mary Ann Hawthorne, and I hope she feels as proud to lead the band as I did SILNFD k70t I, . SENIOR CLASS HISTORY The class of 1956 now realize what it is llke to be leaving dear old Belmont High But before we do, let us refresh in our minds the memories that we enjoyed throughout our four years together As freshmen, we entered high school on September 2, 1952, with 3 students Twenty two of us had gone the previous 6 grades in Belmont, while ll had completed grade school in Morristown Merle Hickenbottom came over from New Athens, and as the year progressed along, Glenna Burghy hailed in from Bellaire Then in November, we were glad to welcome Shirley and nvaline Morrison .from Jane Lew, West Virginia, giving us a total of 37 This year we presented two plays, nGone with the Girls, and 'A Perplexing Situation, in which most of the class took part Mrs Mitchell was director of both plays On September l, l953, we entered school as gay young sowhomores Four did not return this year, so we started out with 33 eager to learn students In the spring Delores Weekly, from Martins Ferry, joined our class, but withdrew weeks later along with Shirley and Evaline Morrison This year, we gave our play entitled nPlain Sister,' directed by Miss Groves The girls had a wonderful time serving at the Junior Senior Banquet All too soon September 7 rolled around and we became 'jolly juniors We started the year with a merry 29 Our class play this year was Our Miss Brooksn directed by Mrs Neuhart we received our class rings at the beginning of the Junior ye r We were honored to have the seniors as our guests at the Junior Senior Banquet Our Commencement Finally after A long years, we became seniors We started the year out with 29 hard worklng boys and girls We worked very hard all year to raise money for our class trlp in May Some of the methods for raising money were selling magazines, cafeteria, selling at games, etc In October, we all had our pictures taken Our class play also was in October It was a comedy entitled, n0ld Doc Our director was Mrs Neuhart We give our best wishes to all our underclassmen and hope that they enjoy their h years of high school as much as we have We also wish to thank our teachers who have given us patient understanding throughout these years if ffif7i54ifW5r15:,, A fei'1?f111' WMI JN FJWO QQQQ-J rw WWX sgfN?HeJ2f'J'? fcgi nf X7 0,30 db.-L, fe. wW 9'-Q L46 ll' u ' V L ll U N Y T n I ' 1' . 6 U .
