Dear Students, Faculty, and Administration: After 2 years of hard work, this edition of Spire is finally complete. Working on this Spire proved to me that it not only takes skill and imagination to complete a yearbook, but, more importantly, responsibility and endurance. It also takes the interest of the student body to make a yearbook possible. In part, it is the responsibility of the college personnel and organizations to help produce the book by submitting pictures. The production of a yearbook is not, and shouldn ' t be, simply the responsibility of one person, but that of all whom it affects. Our Spire reflects the interest and pride we have in the Abbey. It is a portrayal of what exists here. I ' d like to thank Rebecca Grimes for all her guidance and enthusiasm right to the very end. I ' d also like to thank Father Mauricio West, O.S.B., for his patience, consideration, and efficiency in getting pictures to me. The help of Rebecca and Fr. Mo certainly encouraged me to continue working. The best way I could think of to show my appreciation was by dedicating this book to both of them, as they were dedicated in helping me complete it.
