Faith in the future and an attitude of Peace has prevailed against the ravages of time. Seventy- six years of living for Belmont Abbey has not changed the spirit of The Abbey aim of: Training of the body, the informing of the mind, the strengthening of the will, the developing of habits and skills and attitudes, all these must be for God and in a ccord with God ' s will. How can we fail? By placing the whole of us in Him, the Creator of all things, and shower- ing Him with our prayers for eternal Peace, our Faith can and will remain steadfast and firm. The present Staff of the Spire believes this issue of our memorabilia should recall to mind, that our veterans who had served their country honorably and with distinction and remembering those future members of the armed forces, who await their call to serve for peace - all hold this precious faith for peace as God ' s stalwarts. If this volume projects itself among our student body, the idea of Faith and Peace, we shall have served our purpose. One small segment of the world ' s population can propagate our sincere wish. Our Alma Mater ' s purpose shall have been attained and our most heartfelt aspiration realized.
