This change also means proceeding from the present behavioral status to one of high yet sensible status. It does not indicate or mean an air of superiority over one's peers but recognition thatoneof thebest things in life is behavior becoming a man. Acquired knowledge properly applied and manly behavior sensibly exhibited will mean much in raising the standards of society and the preservation of a high caliber civilization. May the students of Bellville Local School System represented in this annual be living exam- ples of high ideals indicated by knowledge and the finest of behavior so that they realize the best from life and they help to preserve civilization. We selected as our officers President, Lynn Holdren, Vice-Presi- dent, Judy Pattersong Secretary, Charlotte Ruhlg Treasurer, Nanci Spaydeg and Student Council, Darryl Eyster. The major activities for this year centered around our two class plays and the Junior-Senior Prom. The first play was The Night Crawlers directed by Miss Margie Kauf and the second was The Perfect Idiot . This play, directed by Miss Margaret Terrell, the theater-in-the- round style on the gym floor. In the latter part of April, plans of decorations, menus, invitations were completed for our prom. The evening commenced with a delicious dinner which consisted of: ham, escalloped potatoes, corn, and cherry pie a la mode. This was served at Temple Hills. Later we danced in the beautifully decorated ballroom to the music of The Blue Notes Nanci Spayde became our junior Homecoming attendant and Linda McPhern was selected as Cupid's Hop attendant. In the spring it was announced that Lois Spohn would represent Bellville at Buckeye Girls' State and Chuck Bowers at Boys' State. When we cameback for our final year we spied Mr. Weikle who, with the help of Mr. Kirkwood, became our class sponsors. We welcomed Herb Martin but regreted that Dick Partin, Dianne Gehrisch, ,T im Smith and Ron Maxwell withdrew from school. This year Lynn Holdren was picked to lead us with Lloyd Walker, Vice-Presidentg Charlotte Ruhl, Secretaryg Gene Barr, Treasurerg and Bonnie Breyman, Student Council. Selected by the Football Squad, J' can Fulton reigned as the 1959 Homecoming Queen while Charlotte Ruhl acted as senior attendant. Sharon Shumaker was the Sweetheart of the Cupid's Hop along with Rosalie Gonzalez, attendant, and Priscilla Fry, Mistress of Ceremonies. Several of our money-making activities included the Senior play You Can't Take It With You directed by Miss Margaret Terrell, football and basketball refreshment stands, selling Richland County Tournament Programs and a spaghetti supper. Written by: witnessed by: Yogi Bear and Three Stooges l'dlIU VMZI55 IIFIIUPIIBEQ WORLD- WIDE SEARCH 'Tis the year 1975, and Bonnie Dudgeon is still awaiting the arrival of her lover. When he still hasn't arrived she de- cides to book passage on a boat to Europe. The first people that she meets are the ship's captain, Jim Etzwiler, who gets seasick at the thought of water, and the Social Director, Joyce Morgan. Joyce is just beginning to give instructions in the Art of Judo to Russell Reed and Naomi Soliday. As Bonr1ie walks out on the deck to relax, she sees the dashing, romantic multi- millionaire, Bob Gatton, and his famous movie star fiancee, Joyce Staats, relaxing and absorbing the bright sun. In the evening, Bonnie ventures into the social room for entertainment, and who does she see but the famous jugglers, Carl Graham, and his little assistant, Tom Maurerg they are juggling to the music from a glockenspiel played by Jim Baker. An interruption in the program- -Bill Bonner is sellingpeanuts, popcorn, crackerjacks, and on the side he is still trying to sell his famous painting that he calls Modern Art . Then who happens along but the cigarette girl, clad in her bikini, Priscilla Fry. Priscilla, so astounded at meeting Bonnie, accidently bumps the table spilling the drinks on Bonnie. ln comes the scrub man with his bucket, Jon Hershey. .Ton had always wanted to conduct a Beatnik Band , but due to his lack of coordination, he just oouldn't get the beat! Bonnie retires to her room escorted by theporter, Larry Calhoon, who is still leading his prize cow, the same cow that won many blue ribbons at the Bellville Fair in 1959. Arriving in Italy the next day, Bonnie receives an invita- tion to the wedding of Lois Spohn. Lois, who after 15 years of trying to plan this wedding, has finally succeeded. As Bonnie enters the Cathedral, Ushers Paul Ward and Rodney Brown escort her to her seat. The Wedding March is played by Sondra Cupp on her dad's organ, which had been moved to Italy especially for this wedding. To the front of the Cathedral we see Reverend Gene Bowman, who will be marrying the happy couple. After the I do's are spoken, Lois turns to throw her bridal bouquet and jumping up from the front is Bonnie Breyman to catch the bouquet. But suddenly she trips and falls into the arms of her high-school lover, Lloyd Walker. Out in the crowded streets of Rome, we find Bonnie Kehl in her 1959 Ford Police Cruiser leading the wedding procession. Bonnie then decides to cross the Mediterranean Sea. She arrives in darkest Africa to find Dave Collins high in a tree beating his bongos and throwing oooonuts. This greatly disturbs Larry Scott, who is trying to teach the natives about segrega- tion. At thehead of the class is Marsha Black, his beloved wife. ln the distance we hear the beating of war drums and hurrying into the small village to warn the inhabitants are the two chief cannibals, Carol Davies and Joan Fulton. Bonnie 24 finds it hard to recognize them because she has never seen them with bones through their noses. Being terrified at this Bonnie hurriedly leaves Africa and travels to Siberia. Arriving in Siberia she is greeted by a huge billboard advertising Rosie's Salt-Free Diet . Wishing to try this she journeys through the salt mines. She finds Dick Smith and his wife, the former Pat Kilgore, giving commands to the prisoners. At the store she sees the proprietor, Rosalie Gonzalez, still try' ing to gain weight. Delores Hively and Mary Ann Goss are sitting at the bar eating their air pudding with a wind dip and drinking salt-free sodas. Bonnie notices Darryl Eyster, known to millions as Lucy , the singing bar maid, behind the counter. Much to Bonnie's surprise, he is still decked out in his dad's pin striped suit. Sick of the salt, Bonnie flies to France. She plans an exciting evening at the French Quarter. The main attraction at the Lido is a team of Bubble Dancers, Fan-Fan McPhern and Fifi Knell. In the wings she can see the chorus line under the direction of Judy Patterson. Looking a little closer, she recognizes some of the faces of high-kicking boys, Dick Gehrisch, Chuck Bowers, Don Whatman and Gene Barr. During intermission there is a demonstration on Ballet Dancing con- ducted by Sharon Woodard and her able-bodied teacher who won second place honors in the Mr, France contest, Larry Tilton. A scream is heard from the back of the room, Bonnie looks in that direction to see Charlotte Ruhl, now Mrs, Tilton, seated with the ten little Tillies . She is screaming because of a knock-down, drag-out fight between Nanci Spayde and Coon Hively. Nanci had left on her honeymoon with the wrong I-lively Boy! Oh well, things can't go right all the time. Suddenly we hear.someone blowing a whistle, and in strolls Lynn Holdren, who was classified as the boy with the smile and who never fought with anyone in his high school days. Lynn and his two assistants, Dick Bisel and Buzz Martin, drag Coon back to the ship returning to America. Bonnie looks toward the dance floor and sees one of her best girl friends of the old days, Sharon Shumaker, dancing with some guy in an Air Force uniform. Looking a little closer, she recognizes her lover. She has been attempting to locate him quite a while. Angrily, Bonnie approaches them to tell Sharon what she thinks of her, but before Bonnie has a chance to speak, Sharon tells her that she had found him and was going to bring him home to Bormie. So the happy couple and cupid return toAmerica and they live happily ever after.
