THAT WAS THEN lf someone had visited Bells High School last year, they would have agreed that a big change was ln order. After a lot of hard work, the change finally came. Our community is very proud of the fact that we have built a brand new 1.75 million dollar high school. This great accomplishment could not have ever materialized without the whole communi- ty pulling together. lt all started with the second attempt at passing a 1.2 million dollar bond election. lt passed in the fall of 1986. The plans had already been drawn up by the architects of EDI. Next a contractor was chosen. The decision was made to use Paul Pogue as the contractor. Finally, the construction began. All of the work that went into getting the high school built and ready for the first day of school in 1987 wasn't totally done by the contractors. There were coaches and teachers as well as community people who took time out to help a little. It was really hard to keep the construction right on schedule at times because of the rain. This was definitely a down-to-the-deadline project.
