THE 1981 EAGLE Under the Sun Bells, Tennessee 1 CONTENTS 4 8 Freda Kenner Miss Freda Kenner is an exceptional person. Having retired after 25 years as a successful speech and drama teacher at Messick High School in Memphis, Miss Kenner returned to her Alma Mater in 1971 to teach private speech lessons. Recognized statewide as an outstanding speech coach. Miss Freda has been active in speech and drama organizations on both state and national levels. As a person with the highest standards herself. Miss Freda expects nothing less than the best from her students, and Bells High School has been well represented by her speech contestants and Thes- pian Society productions. Her students have gone on to become successful in many walks of life. Henry Adams once wrote. “A good teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops. Such a teacher is Miss Freda, and Bells High School is fortunate to have her as a part of its faculty. 9 Basil J. Crider served as principal at Bells High School from 1940-1958, then served as superintendent until 1976. Mr. Crider coached basketball and taught history at BHS until he left to serve in World War II. He then returned and took the job of principal. Mr. Crider was a great asset to both our school and our community, and he will be missed by all who knew him. 10 Administration 7 BILL EMERSON B.S., Murray Slate University M.S., Middle Tennessee State University Superintendent Board of Education Lett to right.
