A total of $1,412.- 48 in subscriptions was sold. Mrs. Frances Walker’s eighth grade was the winning room. Their award is to be an ice cream party. Mr. Horner’s seventh grade won second place, lacing less than a dollar tying with the win- ning room. David Sherrod won first place as the top individual salesn an. A an- nual Barnwarming was held in the gymnasium Monday night, ; November 19, at seven thirty. We I began the recreation with the | grand march Following was the Tennessee Mixture, Texas Shod dish, and the Virginia Reel. Gin- ger snaps and apple cider were enjoyed by all. Then the gym was darkened and a light w'as focused on bales of cotton where the F. H. A. beau and F. F. A. sweet- heart and their court for 1956-57 would be crowned. The F. F. A. sweetheart was Julia Tankersley, 1 who was crowned by the presi- dent of the F. F. A., Sammy Ed- wards. She received a bouquet of red roses. The F. H. A. beau was : Sammy Edwards, crowned by the s president of the F. H. A., Nancy Agee. The first maid was Frances ‘ Norris, and first page, Jerry Wells. The second maid was Gail Bolton and second page. Clint Williams. The F. H. A. beau, the pages, and the maids each receiv- ed a red rose bud. Each member of the court is an active member in the F. H. A. or F. F. A.
