fi f' r' - r- efill.: .b?Qf4.fc The girls, due to a ruling in Delaware County, are prohibited playing interscholastic basketball games, so this year the girls gym class was divided into four teams captained by Jessie Andrews, Ora Webb, Frances Freshwater and Darlene Dunlap. With Mr. Salisbury and Miss Fisher as their coaches the girls developed some fine pass work and played some splendid ball. At each of the home games two girls teams played before the reserve game. These games proved to be very popular with the crowd and drew as much interest as the boys games. The night of each game Miss Fisher acted as the coach and Mr. Salisbury as referee. At the end of the schedule the teams, captained by Darlene Dunlap and Frances Freshwater were tied with two victories and one defeat each, and a playoff was necessary. This game was played at noon March 18, and Frances' team won by a score of 17-12, thereby winning the championship. A banquet was held at noon on March 20 for the winners, fno partners were takenb. Speeches were given by Esther Thomas, Miss Fisher, and Mr. Salisbury. Betty Rodgers acted as toastmaster.
