BOY SGOUTS CF AMERICA Scouting was created in the United States in l9lO as a result of an incident occurring in England which inspired Mr. Boyce to create a nation wide Boy Scout movement in the United States. Scouting is a great asset in preparing the youth of our nation and other nations to become respectable citizens. It provides for companionship and teaches many subjects such as first aid and artificial respiration which aids greatly in emergencies. Making the best use of opportunitie being thrifty and helpful are stressed by this movement. It is impartial to any creed or cast. Troop 212 was organized in the summer of 1935 under the sponsorship of the Bellpoint Parent-Teacher Association. Committee or board of directors are as J. Cone, Chairman, Mr. W. W. Boylan, and The Troop follows: Mr. P. Mr. E. J. Healy. Mr. J. W. Salisbury was selected as SCO'-ltYl'l3.St9I' f01' the troop. The boys of the troop have taken a great interest in the activities of scouting. This is shown by their one hundred per cent representation at the Court of Honor. They now have a total membership of eleven members. They are as follows: Wolf Patrol Eagle Patrol Eugene Arehart, leader Joe Boylan, leader George Edelblute Calvin Gone Roger Kincaid John Rutherford John Macklin Harold Pounds Erwin Foreman James Webster Edward Ufferman Since Troop 212 was organized in 1935, the year of the Silver Jubilee, our troop received an emblem showing that it is a silver jubilee troop. 'The emblem will be placed on the troop flag. Our troop is planning to spend a week-end at Camp Lazarus in the near future and is looking forward to many scouting activities during the summer months.
