Howes aottorg 'rar CLASS or 1936 Betty Rodgers -- Valedictorian -- 91.53 average Abe Kilbury -e--- Salutatorian --- 96.7 average Senior Tests During the week of Jaunary 20, the seniors all over the state of Ohio were given diagnostic tests in the fundamentals of English, Reading and Mathematics. The purpose of which was to discover the weaknesses of the high school graduates. These tests were the result of cirticisms of the high schools made by colleges and universities and men of the business world. As a follow-up to the tests the seniors of Bellpoint High School have been given a remedial course under the supervision of Superintendent Salisbury. This class has proved to be highly beneficial in preparing us for entrance to college or business. ' Senior Scholarship Tests March 28, 1936, all over the state of Ohio those seniors ranking in the upper third of their classes competed in a general scholarship test. Those entitled to represent Bellpoint in the tests given at Willis High School were: Betty Rodgers, Abe Kilbury and Wray Sabine. Scholastic Contests Each fall Ohio Wesleyan University entertains students from all over the state at the time of their annual scholarship tests, prizes of which amount to several hundred dollars in cash or tuition scholarships. Following the tests which are given in the forenoon, Ohio Wesleyan provides various programs consisting of organ recitals, plays and miscellaneous entertainment. At noon a luncheon on the campus is furnished by the fraternities.
