Mercury Our Advice to the Undergraduates Once aji:i in the time has arrived for t he honore 1 Seniors to leave B.F.A. and the underclassmen whom we have faithfully protected and assisted. We understand the pro- blems you will face next year without our watchful eyes and guiding hands and we wish to contribute a portion of our knowledge in hopes that the underclassmen will be as successful as we were. The advice is varied as you will see, So listen well and wiser you ' ll be. Experience that ' s what we speak from, So take this advice, we know you need sonic! Before we leave these hallowed halls Here ' s our advice to one and all! We advise the Juniors to take good care of Revef Roines. We urge the Sophomores to use wisely their new status as upperclassmen. The Class of ' 66 reminds the Freshmen and Sub-fresh- men that Your day will come. Dave Fahl advises Dennis Greenia to take good care of Xewell Decker in the absence of the Class of ' 66. Rae Shepard suggests that next year ' s majorette cap- tain note carefully those girls who skip Pep Rallies! Alene Brault advises Marc Roeheleau to talk less and study more in Mr. Induni ' s study hall. Dave Powell reminds Sue Peterson that she will have to look out for herself now that he is no longer available. Linda Douglas advises everyone to smile, no matter how many troubles you have. Smile! Then you can plead insanity! Jacqueline de Loeschnigg advises the underclass girls to concentrate on their driving and not on themselves. Bill Hobb urges Marc Casanova Mallett to keep smiling. Bill Pike reminds any boy who wants to keep his hair long to avoid Mr. Massa. It worked for him, for a while anyway! John Kimel advises all boys not to loiter and never to smoke in the Boys ' Rooms. Diane Drinkwater advises the Juniors not to be misled by Mr. Goodrich when he says Physics is Fun! Tom Mills and J.R. Delaurier hope that anyone driv- ing a sports car will watch out for dirt corners in Milton Borough! Chris Trombley advises all girls to forget the boys and remember the bo ks! Roland Yandow suggests that Dave Wheeler make let- ter use of his empty Dristan bottles. Bev Bouthillier proposes that certain underclassmen sign up for a course entitled. How to act as if you haven ' t been where you have been. Deb King advises Judy Johnson to get a larger basket- ball number. Wendy Henderson reminds Debbie Jacobs that blondes really do have more fun. Betsy Hersey reminds Bruce ( ' orliss that Jay is a good place to ski -and it is friendly. The Modern Gang advises all Juniors to study Modern History -it ' s an experience you will never forget! The Seniors advise Mr. Sanderson ' s shop boys to get with it, or else! Sue Cadieux urges all underclassmen to look alive and stay alert! You will make it! After all. we did Jane Lavarnway advises Lee Bressette not to believe everything she reads about tenting parks. Lastly, we advise all underclassmen that there is a pro- per place and time for everything. School is a place for education and training, take every minute into considera- tion, it goes by to fast to toss something aside till tomorrow. ■,si ' ii?r 3£I$tgS t Bellows tree Academy Athletics : ► .-.(lv.ll I. ... ■I hose games after the nigh l before i.l, r. I read on to notice that another old buddy, Mark Benjamin, had just won a gold medal and two silver medals for the United States in the recent Winter Olympics. I only wished I could have seen these three dis- tinguished athletes to talk about old times. Having finished my reading, I turned out the lights and went to sleep. I wanted to be well rested for the next day ' s adventures. My first stop was Greenwich Village where I saw my old friend Brent Jarvis who is a famous folk singer on Washing- ton Square. After that, I went to see Steve Pierce who owns a large book store in Manhattan. My final stop of the day was at the office of the president of the National Safety Council, Greg Perry. After meeting Greg, I returned to the lintel to freshen up, and then went out to dinner. The din- ner turned out to be a little more exciting than I had hoped for, however, because when the time came for the floor show, whom did I see but Linda Douglas and Diane Drink- water. They did a wonderful duet with Diane playing the piano and Linda accompanying her vocally. During this wonderful act I had the pleasure of being served a number of delightful drinks by bar-maids Gail Stearns, Donna Goodroe and Donna Boardman. Back at the hotel, I picked up a copy of the latest Sports Illustrated and read an article about Gary Boudreau sign- ing to defend his middle-weight boxing title against Steve LeBlanc. On the following page appeared a beautiful girl advertising Tarreyton cigarettes, whom I recognized as ray old friend Paula Vallee. After finishing the magazine, I im- mediately turned off the lights and retired for the night. xTnow is the time for all good men to come to the aid of the The next morning I checked out th the hotel . . . my next stop, Baltimore, Maryland. Approaching the parking lot where ray car was parked, I noticed that the hood of my car was up. As I got closer I saw a man bending over my engine and murmuring to himself gee. four-barrel carb, with duel over-head cams. Must tach seven grand and do ' wheelies off the line. Infuriated by the sight, I ran up behind him, grabbed him and spun him around. As you have probably guessed, I found myself staring into the eyes of an excited David B. Trombley. My great delinght over this coincidence became even greated when Dennis Demers pulled up in his 19(54 Stingray, looked into Trombley ' s eyes, and said, Wanna run it? After talking with these two old friends. I made the long trip to Baltimore. My trip started off as a big disappointment when I learn- ed t hat the nation ' s three most suave playboys. John Kimel ed that the nation ' s three most suave playboys, John Kim- el, Tom Mills, and D. S. Powell III were vacationing on the French Riviera. I further learned that the world-renowned trio actually only occupied their suite in Baltimore the third week in August, but that they could be found in Miami in a couple of weeks. Not wishing my trip to Baltimore to be a complete fail- ure, I decided to visit the famous Annhauser-Busch Brew- ery where my old classmate. Bill Pike, was vice-president. While Bill was showing me through the plant, he pointed out Roland Yandow who was one of the most outstanding brewmasters in the company. I asked Bill if any of our other old classmates were still around Baltimore. He said that J. H. DeLaurier used to be and asked me if I had heard about J. R. ' s unfortunate ac- cident. I said no. and Bill proceeded to tell me how .1. H. had been playing golf one day and was lying down on the tee looking for an ace bandage which had dropped out of his pocket when a far-sighted man stepped up to the tec and mistaking J. R. ' s bald head for a golf ball drove it 350 yards down the fairway for a new club record. Fortunately, they were able to sew his head back on and now he is back to his old self. After talking a little while longer with Bill about old times. I finally got into the car and started North to my old home town, St. Albans. After two days travel. I started recognizing landscapes and finally came upon the sign that said entering St. Albans. Having driven down the Main Street of my old home town my first stop was back to my old alma mater. When I tried to open the front door I found, to my great disap- pointment, that it was locked. About to leave I heard the door open. At once I recognized the janitor to be my old classmate, Eddie Jewell. After listening to his latest wild adventures, I finally managed to learn that many of my old classmates had, in fact, returned to B.F. A. Debbie King was enjoying a successful reign as varsity football coach. He, also, mentioned that the cafeteria was being well man- aged by head cook Beverly Wells and her fine assistants Virginia Mayo, Alene Brault, Gerry Lee Newton, Phil LaCross, and Diane Duggento. In the executive depart- ment was Gary Odell the principal and Bob Wagner, vice principal. If my memory served me right, it seemed to me that Bob had spent a great deal of time in the Trustees ' room before he had graduated. On the teaching staff were Robert Fairbanks, advanced mathematics instructor, Dr. Stephen Chagnon, Physics professor, and Thomas Rich- ards and Krnie Sanders, English teachers. After hearing a few more of Ed ' s amorous adventures. I left the old school and drove down Main Street. As I passed the unemploy- ment office I noticed a familiar looking man leaving the building. By the time I realized that it had been Phil Plant, it was too late to stop him— he had already gone into Grants to do his shopping. ( ' ontinuing down Main Street, I saw a nice looking store with a sign reading Robert ' s Meat Market. Hoping that perhaps this was my old classmate Dick Roberts, I stopped my car and walked in. What greeted me was most desir- able. Dick was standing behind the meat counter with Rae Shepard. Gail Lumbra and Roxy Kenyon, his three lively employees. After a most inspiring reunion, I left to check into the hotel. When the desk clerk learned my name, he told me I had received a very urgent phone call from my hometown bank president, Mr. Gary Dukas, and I was to phone him immediately. Wondering what he could want, I put the call through and Gary regretfully informed me t hat he had lost all my money. Shocked beyond words I reluc- tantly climbed into the car, and with a final wave of good- bye to old St, Albans, I headed home. I ' .. ' .
