Brief glimpses of times gone by. People and events that in some way touched us. We share in common the histories of some — Celebrities in many fields. Those we've deemed “the famous . What we gained from these heroes is as diverse as what they have done to achieve their status. With some we can learn . . . With some we can laugh . . . And some we can sweat with . . . Some we just watch . . . doesn't. These achievers provide us the standards. They set the pace, establish the goals . . . We owe it to ourselves to discover our own special talents. We each have a hero within us. We each have our own history worth preserving. While we're young. We have to check out the cards we've been dealt And sort them out the best we can. Making the most of the short lives we have. One day it will be too late, too late to finish our dreams . . . Too late to achieve our ideals. While we still can, we must learn from others, live with others. We must go through the work, failures, laughter and friend- ships called life. Life is segmented, and school time, in retrospect, is one of the best parts. A part that can never be relived. A part that should never be forgotten. Part challenging, part rewarding . . . Part friendly, and part crazy . . . Take life while you can . . . And consider every moment precious. Some day it will be over . . . . . . some day you'll wish you were eighteen again. Our yearbook is dedicated to an easy going friend to us all. He made sure we were all in class on time. During his career, he made out over seventy billion excuse slips - far surpassing the number of hamburgers produced at McDonald's! His school bus was always full and clocked many miles going to and from school events. The 1985 Sampler Yearbook Staff and the Class Of 1985 proudly dedicates our yearbook to . . . This is shown through the students dedication to scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Our National Honor Society was very busy this year. In conjunction with Home Arts, the members prepared and served dinner for the New England Evaluation Team, our School Board, and our faculty and staff. Other activities during the year include two induction ceremonies, the Scholars Bowl, and the Shamrocks for Dystrophy campaign. Despite the record, the team worked hard, supported each other, and never lost their desire for the game. The team could be termed inexperi- enced, young, and going through a building process. With the loss of only two seniors, Capt. Mike Pe- traska and Rick Comstock, the fu- ture looks bright. The 1985 soccer squad will have twenty returning letter winners, two of which made the C.V.L. All Star Team, and twelve of which were freshman. Clark, Miss Silver 100 Class Poem This chapter in the book of our lives Is coming to a welcome end. We'll look back upon our eventful years, and remember all the good times and smile. We've watched the class of nineteen eighty-two and eighty-three and eighty-four go forth; We will join them marching to our own beat. And add new ideas to the outside world. As we go out to face the real world, At colleges; careers; or other things. We'll soon be far away from all the friends We've known and loved for many, many years. So many of us have been together Since Kindergarden took us from our nests. And others for only six years or less- But you know all of us will shed some tears. There's no sense dwelling on things in the past; Better things lie ahead in this book. So when the celebrating is over. Look on for the new and turn the page. And when you remember all the good times. And laugh at the good experiences, You will soon come to the realization That it had all gone by much, much too fast. Yet there are still plenty of memories. That are soon to come in the next chapter. And many more new faces and friendships, That will touch all our lives, spirits, minds, and hearts. But the memories that will dominate. In the top of all our minds and hearts. Are the memories made by all our friends, In the class of Eighty-five. 101 Lara MacIntyre BELLOWS FALLS EVERYDAY LOW PRICES OPEN 7-DAYS 7 A.M.
