They are not only always willing to help in any way they can, but they are true friends as well. One has devoted a vast amount of time and ener- gy to each senior class, particularly in the past few years. He has put in a lot of long hours and late evenings, he has also put up with more than one short temper. The second recipient has put in much time and effort to produce a winning spirit, confidence, and self pride within the students he has had in classes and the young men he has coached throughout the years. He has shown that above all else he cares about the students with whom he has worked, and that care and respect is returned by his teams. The math team's first meet of the year was hosted by Windsor High School on November 9th. Fourteen teams participated in the meet. Bellows Falls finished in fourth place in the senior division, and fin- ished in sixth place in the intermediate division. Peter Warren was the high scorer for Bellows Falls with nineteen points. Alyson Stagg and Tina Curcuru both scored 25 points for the intermediate team. The second meet was held at Fall Mountain on January twelfth. Thirteen teams competed in this meet. Both the Bellows Falls senior and intermediate teams came out with the highest scores. Peter Warren had a perfect score in the senior division, and Jennifer Arbuckle followed suit with a perfect score in the intermediate division. After two meets, Bellows Falls was in third place in the league in both the senior and intermediate divisions. The third meet was hosted by B.F.U.H.S. with the help of the National Honor Society. This was the first meet with computerized score cards! The Home Court advantage was of little help in problem solving, however, as the senior division placed fourth, and the intermediate division was in seventh place. Tom DeBell and Peter Warren both contributed high scores of twenty five for the day, as did Tina Curcuru in the intermediate division. Both the senior and intermediate teams held third place in the league after the third meet. Peter Warren and Tina Curcuru were both in second place individually in their divisions. Jeanne Guild and Tom DeBell were also among the top scorers. The final meet of the season will be held at Hartford High School on April 12th. The top individual Cumulative winners will then com- pete in an All-Star Math Meet between the Twin State Math League and the Burlington Math League.
