BELLOWS FALLS UNION HIGH SCHOOL DEDICATION The senior year, as we all know, can be the most trying year of our high school career. We find that there are moments of success and triumph. But with these moments of grandeur come two-fold moments of failure and rejection. All of us who have had the letter know how important it is to have someone there who cares. Someone who knows what to say, or, if words are inappropriate, lends a helping hand. 2 Too many times this kind of help goes unappreciated. But we, the class of 1980 would like to acknowledge Mr. ERIC BONE and Mr. DAVID JOHNSON for these traits with the dedication of the 1980 Sampler. THE SAMPLER STAFF 3 Mr. Charles C. If only there were words enough To express the way we feel But after this season all we can say is: Is this monster real? Our coach is quite a runner himself But do you know the reason? Its so that he can run with us And push us every season Sitting with our girls he made Taboo And so it was not done Coach Pickering feels before a race We should not have our fun And discipline he numbers first And when we run to slow He tells us up to the reflector Is the place that we should go He made a bet and he lost We say with large smiles So after we won the Kingdom Cup He ran thirty-two miles Between the girls and their birdies And us guys and our rocking Coach's music wasn’t listened too We blamed it on Tom’s talking This season we were up and down Our coach we’d love to race Lauress got to do it last year This year: Gary up the face This year was hard, we ran many miles All except for Chipper The coach cracked down extremely hard On Chip and the Lone Stripper Our coach is tough, but we survive The states we would not miss The parts we like are when we win And Mrs. Pickering’s kiss With all of this we love our coach And respect his beliefs But take his darn country music And throw it in the leaves BELLOWS FALLS UNION HIGH SCHOOL NINETEEN EIGHTY SAMPLER “ THIS IS THE FAMOUS SAMPLER. At First Vermont Bank, we have two special programs we think high school graduates will find very helpful as they make their way into the world. The first is a spe- cial checking offer for graduates: free checking for a year on our regular checking account. It’s our graduation gift to you. The second is our Student Loan Program. ¥ Through it, some 1,900 students who might other- wise have found it just too expen- sive are attending the college of their choice... thanks, at least in part, to us. If you’d like to find out more about these programs, stop by any of our banks. We’re conven- iently located, you know. In fact, you might say, success is just around the comer.
