“
Reach out and let my fingers touch yours. Many times our hands have strengthened one another. Our smiles cheered each other And our mutual excitement kept us from the sleep of apathy. I look back and see our happiness. And I know that it is up to us to keep our lives so bright. Reach out, let my fingers touch yours; We will work for the future, Side by side. Together. Sherry Lawrence TOGETHER We began together . The first generation . . . The first graduating class entering the new school as freshmen seedlings to continue on thru four years, finally to graduate. Seedlings planted in the “earth” of education An idea . . . A dream born of longing for a newer, freer form of education An unrestricted, unrestrained process of learning . . . with something for everyone. It was honored and respected because it was special . . We became special for having had it. The dream became a reality for the students . . . for the teachers. We centered our very lives around it and loved it. as teacher, friend, life. For each and every one of us the togetherness we found nurtured and developed in four years of learning held a deep seated meaning. We are the first to complete the dream, to live, to learn, to grow with it. Whatever we do, whether we fail or succeed, together we are the product of a dream. Marcia S. WINTER TRACK The Winter Track Team this year had a successful season capturing honors at the state track meet. Strong performances by Jim Sears and Bruce McWilliam in the shot put supplemented a great job done by the runners, with Lewis Smith and Ed Fisher coming in 1st and 2nd in the mile run. Ed also won the honor of state champion in the 2 mile. Tim Allen, Ed Smith and Torn Anderson all helped to boost up the total further. Coach Petty was pleased with the program and is anxiously looking forward to next year. 59 ROW 1 — D. Jenkins, D. ('lark, J. Lesser. N. Green. ROW 2 — C. Roberts, P. Stebbins. B Holt. K. Cray, E. Starting out with 32 skiers, many of whom were new to the sport. Coaches Kennedy and Farmer turned the group into quite a ski team, pos- ing a threat to many area teams. The surprising win at the Bellows Falls Tri-Meet gave everyone a little more confidence going into the all impor- tant district meet, but due to a weak jumping and alpine effort we settled for a 10th place finish. Although some might think that the team might have done better, we feel that everyone on the team deserves a great deal of credit for the hard work and practicing that was done largely on their own. After sharing classes for ten years, we had come to know Roland not only as a classmate but as a friend. Although Roland never saw Graduation Day, his thoughts are still with us, and we have the memory of his accomplishments, be they large or small, to cherish for the rest of our lives. ROW 1 — A.
