FOREIGN LANGUAGES Offering both French and Latin, our foreign language de- partment is one of the most exciting areas in our new school. Utilizing a well-equipped language laboratory and talented personnel, students are sharing in many reward- ing experiences. Another trip a travers I’ocean was offered.

INDUSTRIAL ARTS Learning to work with your hands is the key to the operation of the Industrial Arts department. Many new machines and equipment and loads of new ideas are present this year, as the students seem to enjoy working with wood and metal. In the electronics area, students are introduced to the laws of applied electronics, with the goal of understanding the basics of electricity and elec- tronics. In the mechanical drawing area, a varie- ty of 3-dimensional plans are conceived and cre- ated, for items ranging from cylinders to houses. 23

Now that we have introduced our new school, and the people in charge of its sever- al areas, we present the men who are responsible for it all, behind the scenes but in command; the Union High Scool District No. 27 School Board and their executive officer, Superintendent Harry Noyes. The patience and careful planning of the school board and administrators brought out school through many stages, from early design through construction to the finished product. BEHIND THE SCENES... Many other people make significant contribu- tions to our school, keeping it a safe, healthy and happy place, as well as contributing to our education. During second semester we had Diane Schultz in English and Bee Beaudoin in Social Studies, both from the University of Massachusetts, and from Keene State, John DeLancey and William Henderson in Industrial Arts. Pamela Pellerin in Girls' Physical Education, and Deborah Di Salvo and Sam Gengenbach in Social Studies, plus David Blake in Social Studies, from Castleton.
