ENGLISH The English Department took on drastic changes in style of courses offered. One-quarter courses cover communications from radio television to science fiction, and also include old standards such as drama and Shakespeare with new horizons. Mr. John McAuliffe. Co-ordinator. New courses such as SAD. Rebels in America, and Revolution and Protest were initiated this year to make Social Studies courses relevant and interest- ing. The facilities were used to their greatest capacity to make the old sto- ries come alive for us. MUSIC Music lived up to the expectations of the new school with the new course, Music Seminar, the newly-formed Choral Ensemble, the new band director and new band uniforms. Musically we made our debut at the dedication ceremonies with contemporary music based on Shakespeare texts quite a combination! We have scheduled rehearsals, and music can be heard every period, every day, under the direction of Mr. Henry or Mr. Brys. The Choral Ensemble showed its ability in the production of the record, ‘‘Two Sides of Christmas, under the direction of Uncle Billy” Brys — another first for B.F.U.H.S. Mr. David Henry and Mr. William A. Brys 18
