A few skits and one-act plays have been presented only for the club. The Christmas assembly program proved that the Masquerers have the ability to act.

The Thespian Club is an educational organization of teachers and students, established in the spring of 1929 at Fairmont State College, Fairmont, West Virginia for the advancement of dramatic arts in the secondary schools by a group of teachers. The two-fold aims are to establish and advance standards of excellence in all phases of dramatic arts and to create an active and intelligent interest in dramatic arts among boys and girls in the high schools. It is sponsored by the teachers and students who make up its membership. Qualifications for membership are, fly A student must have a major role of one full-length or two major roles in one-act plays. C21 Minor roles in three or four one-act plays. Membership fees are Sl. 50 which is paid to the National Office. The Thespian Club had a play on Thursday, January 17, 1952 entitled Men are Like Street Cars. to give experience in Dramatic Arts and to buy fumiture for the s ta ge.

It is published six times during the school year by members of the Bellmar High School Press Club, the Vemon Junior High School Press Club, and the Marion Junior l-ligh School Press Club. Joanne Vezzani is tl1e editor-in-chief. Doris Lazzari is the news editor, and Donnis Pierallini is the feature editor. The sports editor is Tommy Quintier. Mrs. Hazel Hixenbaugh, Miss Lorraine Guglielmi, and Miss Elizabeth Evans are the sponsors. There are 26 members in the high school press club and 54 members in the junior high school press clubs. The Hurricane acts as a center for collecting and publishing school news in order to acquaint the students with all of the schoo1's activities. It serves as a co-or-dimming agency between the senior high school and the junior high schools.
