Pres. P , ', - sjkf .:. W F ...Q V 'B ULG A V. Pres. R. Sec. R. Sec. Treas. 08 'f . ,g fe. ' nr .Os N 'O ' fa , THE JOINT lt can't happen here! It can't happen here! These were the words we have been hearingufor a long time conceming a joint school program. The invisible county line d been a barrier almost as hard to penetrate as the iron curtain or so it would seem from the debating of ideas for years. It can happen here! Shortly after the 1950-5lschool term started, representatives from severalof the surrounding school districts met at the Marion High School. At this meeting Mr. Harry Brownfield, Fayette County Superintendent of Schools, and Mr. James Hughes, Westmoreland County Superintendent of Schools, informed the group as to the procedure in forming joint school districts. Four of the local districts continued meeting in the interest of a joint school program. These districts were Fayette City, Be e Vemon, North Belle Vemon, and Washington Township. At the Fayette City meetinsg it was agreed that Mr. Fee would be the super- vising Principal, and Mr. Van remen, t e assistant to the supervising principal. At this same meeting it was decided to have preliminary articles 0 agreement drawn up. It did happen here!
